ISLAMABAD:
A significant development has emerged in the £190 million reference pending before the Islamabad High Court as NAB appointed Javed Arshad Advocate as special prosecutor.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear the appeals and suspension-of-sentence petitions filed by PTI Patron-in-Chief Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi on Friday (tomorrow).
According to a notification issued by Acting Prosecutor General Muhammad Akbar Tarar with the approval of the NAB chairman, Arshad will represent NAB in the appeals and bail matters.
Acting Chief Justice Sardar Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif will preside over the hearing.
Imran, who was handed a 14-year prison term, and Bushra Bibi, who received a seven-year sentence, have requested the court to suspend their sentences and release them on bail.
