Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi back? Pakistan to face Bangladesh in three-match T20I series in July

Pakistan men’s cricket team will travel to Bangladesh next month for a three-match bilateral T20I series, as confirmed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board on June 25.

The series, which will take place in Dhaka, will be an opportunity for Pakistan to bounce back after their recent loss to Bangladesh.

Pakistan’s team is set to arrive in Dhaka on July 16, 2025.

The first T20I will take place on Sunday, July 20, followed by the second match on Tuesday, July 22, and the final T20I on Thursday, July 24.

All three matches will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, with the first ball of each match scheduled for 6 pm local time.

The upcoming series will provide Bangladesh with the chance to redeem themselves after a recent three-match T20I series at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where Pakistan completed a clean sweep.

The team’s performance in that series was a significant setback for Pakistan, and they will be looking to improve their form in this upcoming series.

This will be Pakistan’s new white-ball head coach Mike Hesson’s first overseas tour with the national tam. Hesson has talked about incorporating youngsters into his squad previously.

The upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh will provide the perfect for Hesson and his team to bring in new players into the squad, ahead of next year’s ICC T20 World Cup held jointly in India and Sri Lanka.
